Non-Stop Dance!
The Dallas Black Dance Theatre Endowment Fund provides sustainable funding for the Company's dance performances, dance training, and education and community outreach programs.
Growing from a community-based, semi-professional organization in 1976 to a full professional dance company, Dallas Black Dance Theatre now performs for over 120,000 arts patrons annually, including 60,000 students every year.
In 2008, DBDT moved into its first permanent home for rehearsal studios, training classrooms and administrative offices in the 32,000 square foot former Moorland YMCA building in Dallas' Downtown Arts District. In addition, in 2009, DBDT will move its Dallas home season performances from the historic Majestic Theatre to the newly built Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts.
As a part of its building capital campaign, DBDT created a general operations endowment to support day-to-day operations of the Company including facility maintenance, dance performances and educational services. The Endowment is managed by the Communities Foundation of Texas and allows donations to have a greater impact over a long period of time.
Through a gift to the Dallas Black Dance Theatre Endowment Fund, you will provide long-term sustainable resources that will grow DBDT into a Dallas institution providing high-quality dance performances, dance training and education and outreach opportunities for generations of students and arts patrons.
