NATALIA MEZA
DBDT: ENCORE! DANCER | HOUSTON, TX
Natalia Meza (Houston, TX) grew up dancing starting at the age of 12. She is a first-generation college graduate and comes from a Mexican heritage which has played a huge role in her love for music and dance. She graduated Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. While in school, she worked with choreographers including Adele Nickel, Evelyn Toh, Lauren Serrano, and Tyler Orcutt. She has also had the opportunity to train with Cristina Leitao, Elita Cannata, Stefano De Luca, Maya Orchin, and Vincenzo De Rosa during her time in Italy for Dance Italia in 2023. And just this year Natalia has had the opportunity to dance in New York for choreographer Akira Uchida at the Peridance Center. Natalia is inspired by every performance she has given and every teacher she has learned from throughout her career. Her goals as a dance artist are to perform culturally sound movement, collaborate with diverse communities, and push the boundaries for Mexican American inclusivity in the dance world. This is Natalia’s first season with DBDT: Encore!
