FORTY YEARS FORWARD:
A RETROSPECTIVE OF DALLAS BLACK DANCE THEATRE

CURATED BY JAIMI PARKER

SPONSORED BY

For 40 years, Dallas Black Dance Theatre has enriched the cultural fabric of the City of Dallas through the transformative power of dance. Thanks to a grant from the Cultural Vitality Program of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, the company has been able to curate selections from its substantial archives. Memorabilia on display include photographs of Patti Labelle and Harry Belafonte, a letter from President Barack Obama, and costumes with original conception drawings. The exhibit will tour locally throughout Dallas during the summer and the fall.
