The Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s Endowment Fund provides sustainable funding for the dance performances, training, education, and community outreach programs.
In 2008, DBDT moved into its permanent home in the former Moorland YMCA building in Dallas’ Downtown Arts District. The 32,000 square foot facility houses DBDT’s rehearsal studios, training classrooms and administrative offices. The following year, DBDT moved its Dallas home season performances from the historic Majestic Theatre to the newly built Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. Upon the completion of the Moody Performance Hall (formerly Dallas City Performance Hall), DBDT: Encore! moved its Rising Excellence performance (formerly DBDT II’s Spring Fiesta) from the Latino Cultural Center to the Dallas Arts District..
As a part of its building capital campaign, DBDT created an endowment to support day-to-day operations of the Company including facility maintenance, dance performances and educational services. The fund is managed by the Communities Foundation of Texas and enables donors, and their financial contributions, to have a greater impact over an extended period of time.
Your contribution to DBDT’s Endowment Fund will provide long-term, sustainable resources and gaurantees DBDT can continue to provide high-quality dance performances, dance training and education and outreach opportunities for generations of students and arts patrons.
Your gift of $50, $5,000, or $50,000 is important to us and we encourage you to make your dollar go further with a donation to the Dallas Black Dance Theatre Endowment Fund.*
