Dallas Black Dance Theatre returns to New York City for the seventh season with its Spirit of Now series. The performance features two premieres by New York City choreographers.

Bessie award-winning dancer Hope Boykin choreographed “ON. Toward. Press.” weaving her spoken word and movement together. The work shares her personal experiences amid heartaches and struggles. Boykin is in her 20th and final season with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

Darrell Grand Moultrie choreographed the highly energized “Execution of a Sentiment.” Dallas-based TheaterJones review described his work as technically challenging choreography, “Deliberate, sustained balances, electrically charged extensions, and forceful leaps highlighted the sheer athleticism of the company.”

Tickets will not be available by phone or online after 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) on 4/17 and 4/18. However, tickets may be purchased in person at the Ailey Citigroup Theater box office beginning at 7:00 PM (ET) before each performance. For questions please contact ATTPAC at (214) 880-0202.
